You still get a clear report, severity-ranked findings, and a prioritized backlog for what the sprint does not finish. The difference is you leave with real engineering progress, not only a list.

Why “vibe coded” apps hit a wall

“Vibe coding” is not an insult. It describes velocity: Cursor, Copilot, Lovable, Claude Code, and similar tools compress time-to-demo. The problem is not speed. The problem is that production is a different game than demo quality.

Common failure modes we see when prototypes meet real buyers or internal platform teams:

  • Secrets and auth drift — API keys in env files, weak separation of roles, “admin” paths that were fine for three users.
  • Data in the wrong places — PII or customer content showing up in logs, traces, prompts, or support exports without a deliberate model.
  • Silent reliability debt — Unbounded retries, missing timeouts, jobs that are not idempotent, partial failure that corrupts state.
  • Observability gaps — You can demo the happy path, but you cannot answer “what broke?” in fifteen minutes during an incident.
  • Deployment tribal knowledge — Only one person knows how prod gets updated; staging does not mirror reality.

The demo can still be impressive. The operating model is what enterprise conversations stress-test.


What we mean by “enterprise ready”

We are not promising a compliance certification in two days. We are promising a disciplined pass across the areas that usually break first when an AI-based prototype meets real users and real policies:

Security and data

  • Identity and access — Who can do what, and how is that enforced end to end?
  • Secrets and dependencies — Are credentials where they belong? Is dependency and supply-chain posture sane enough to stand behind?
  • Data handling — Where does sensitive data live, move, and get logged? What needs redaction or tighter boundaries?
  • API and surface exposure — What is public, what is authenticated, and what accidentally leaked wider than intended?

Reliability and operations

  • Reliability basics — Timeouts, retries, error handling, and failure modes that do not silently corrupt state.
  • Observability — Enough logging and metrics to answer “what broke?” without a heroic debugging session.
  • Deployment and environments — A path from dev to prod that does not rely on tribal knowledge; meaningful separation between environments where it matters.

Governance (starter level)

  • Change and access — Who can deploy, who can see production data, and how changes are tracked.
  • Documentation and handoff — Enough runbook-style clarity that the app is not locked to one builder.

If your stack is unusual, we still apply the same lens: where does risk live, and what is the smallest set of changes that materially reduces it?—then we implement that slice within the agreed tier cap.


Foundational build (what we actually ship)

“Foundational” means baseline enterprise readiness, not your full product roadmap. By end of Day 1 we lock a written build plan (PR themes + acceptance checks) so Day 2 is execution, not scope creep.

Examples of in-scope work (we pick what fits your stack and tier):

  • Secrets and config — Remove hardcoded credentials, env templates, safer defaults, clearer separation of config per environment.
  • Logging and data hygiene — Structured logs, correlation IDs, redaction on sensitive fields, fewer “accidental PII in stdout” paths.
  • Reliability guards — Bounded retries, timeouts, clearer error surfaces on critical external calls or jobs.
  • Observability baseline — Health/readiness endpoints, minimal metrics or log hooks where they unblock incidents.
  • Deploy and CI hygiene — A smoke test or lint gate, a short runbook stub, or a first step toward safer promotion between environments.

Tier sets how many PRs and themes we commit to (detailed in the written SOW before kickoff). Net-new product features, large redesigns, or “fix everything” belong in a follow-on engagement.


How the two days work

Format: Remote by default, with a short intake so we spend the sprint on engineering—not chasing access.

Team: One to two senior engineers, depending on scope tier.

Access: We need a path to contribute PRs (feature branch + PR, or your equivalent). Merge authority stays with you unless we agree otherwise.

Day 1 — Deep review and build plan lock

  • Kickoff: goals, buyer pressure, scope boundary, merge process, tier build cap.
  • Architecture and runtime walkthrough; security, data, and reliability review (same lenses as above).
  • End of day: agreed list of foundational PR themes and acceptance criteria—signed off so Day 2 is build time.

Day 2 — Implement, synthesize, readout

  • Finish observability and deployment review if needed (may refine PR scope within the same cap).
  • Hands-on implementation: branches, PRs, tests where appropriate—foundational work only.
  • Final report, backlog for remaining risk, executive summary.
  • Readout (60–90 minutes): what we shipped, what we found, what to do next.

This is not a generic code review. It is shaped by the moment a prototype starts mattering—and we put baseline fixes in the repo while the context is fresh.


What you get at the end

  • Merge-ready PR(s) for agreed foundational work (within tier cap)
  • A written assessment with findings grouped by severity
  • A roadmap-style backlog with rough sizing for what remains
  • A short executive summary for non-technical stakeholders
  • A readout call to align on sequencing and follow-on options

The point is progress: clarity on risk, code that moves the baseline, and an honest list of what still needs a longer runway.


What this is not

  • Not a penetration test — We assess architecture and common misconfigurations; formal pentesting is a different engagement.
  • Not a full SOC 2 program — If you need compliance roadmapping, that is a separate track—for example, our SOC 2 readiness offering.
  • Not a full rewrite or greenfield feature sprint — We ship a foundational layer inside tier caps; deeper work is follow-on.
  • Not unlimited scope — Build themes are locked at end of Day 1; everything else goes to the backlog.

This sprint is the fastest path to both an honest read and a better baseline: What would block enterprise rollout—and what can we fix in-repo right now?

  2. Intake: repo access for contributions, architecture notes, environments, stakeholder availability—we share an implementation checklist when you get in touch.
  3. Two consecutive business days: review, build plan lock, foundational PRs, report + backlog + readout.
